With hurricane season here and Santa Ana winds coming soon, protecting your property should be first on the list of priorities. Consider an Eagle concrete tile roof, which when properly installed is made to last up to 75 years and can withstand winds of up to 180mph. If you live in an area prone to these kind of weather events and/or tornadoes, Eagle’s Dual Fix Hybrid System is the recommended installation method as it is a more secure, enduring way of attaching tile to the roof deck, and is far less expensive than a large paddy dual-component foam application and just as effective as more costly options.

Components

For a better understanding of the Dual Fix Hybrid System, lets discuss the two components it is comprised of that provide maximum durability and optimal wind uplift protection.

Tile Screws or Mechanical Fasteners have stronger holding abilities than nails and greater strength, reducing the risk of backing out during a severe storm. These screws are self-seal as they are driven down through the roof deck and a self-adhered underlayment.

Eagle Roofing Products has teamed up with Dupont to incorporate their Tile Bond™ Roof Adhesive as the second element of this high-performing system. A portable one-component polyurethane foam adhesive, Tile Bond is used to attach concrete roof tiles at the overlap essentially gluing down the area of the tile most prone to uplifting. This product delivers not only added uplift resistance and walkability, but also optimum efficiency for your project as it is faster to use than regular two-component foam.

Yielding up to 350 tiles per 23-pound tank of Tile Bond, this system is cost-effective and functional, proven to provide greater protection against unrelenting wind.
